Not clear if my Des first generation brother and his epileptic wife had to resort to valproic acid when pregnant with my niece, a second generation des daughter. I don’t want to cause unnecessary concern but am watching to see now that she is in her early twenties, what potential problems might crop up. Tragic that this industry is so all powerful and people are so careless when it comes to medication. In the case of my epileptic sister in law, I don’t suppose many options were available during her pregnancy. I suspect that as with her mom she will limit the number of children she has.
